N64 Gameshark Repair
Introduction
It's always a sad moment when one of your old electronic device stops working. It's even worst when there's no apparent reason why it broke down!
Some time ago, I tried my old N64 Gameshark Pro to see if I could access the Parallel Port interface. Unfortunately, upon powering ON the system, I was greeted with a black screen on the TV and nothing else. After few fruitless attempts, I came to the conclusion that my Gameshark cartridge had died.
Not satisfied with this tragic outcome, I decided I would at least try to fix it!
I read on several forums that it could be possible to recover a dead GameShark by stacking the dead one on top of a working one and reflash it using a computer. Of course, for this to work, you need a second, working gameshark with a working parallel port; which I didn't have and didn't want to spend money on. You can find more information on this recovery method on Micro-64 Website.
I decided to go for the "hard" course of actions.
